Conventional Power and Transmission

Marathon Capital’s team has substantial experience in the conventional power and transmission sectors having advised on transactions representing over 20 GW of natural gas and coal capacity over the last five years. The firm has a unique understanding of the fundamental drivers of both energy and capacity markets in the different U.S. Power Markets, as well as the interaction between new build activity and retirement of inefficient assets. The scope of the transactions range from M&A assignments to restructurings of both single asset and portfolios of combined cycle and peaking power plants. The team has worked with developers, well-known power-focused financial sponsors, North American utilities and Independent Power Producers.
