Meet Pascal Schoneburg

Mr. Schoneburg joins Marathon from JPMorgan Capital Corporation (“JPMCC”), where he focused on pricing tax-oriented investments (“TOI Energy”) made in the renewable energy sector, consisting of individual and portfolio projects approximately totaling $5 billion in FMV. While at JPMCC Mr. Schoneburg did thorough due diligence and pricing for approximately 3GWs of renewable energy projects (~2GWs of Wind, ~750MWs of Solar and ~200MWs of Biomass) across various states within the U.S.A. In addition to pricing potential investment opportunities for JPMCC, Mr. Schoneburg was also put in charge of managing/improving JPMCCs robust pricing models, said models were structured to be standardized (across technologies) and thoroughly vetted. These models were essential in providing TOI Energy’s analyst that were tasked with pricing a deals with a template that has an extraordinarily solid foundation, from which point they could start to do their analysis on.
 
Prior to JPMCC, Mr. Schoneburg was a member of the finance group at Invenergy LLC, where he directly supported Invenergy’s President, CFO, SVP of Finance, SVP of M&A, VP of Portfolio Management and VP of Treasury & FP&A efforts to raise over $9 billion (in tax equity, back-leverage, construction loans, term loans, w/c facilities, LC facilities and corporate revolving lines of credit) for 30 separate project financings in North America, Europe, and Latin America totaling no less than 4-5GWs of Wind, Solar and Battery Storage projects. He also managed Invenergy’s credit portfolio consisting of approximately $600 million in letters of credit, $100 million in surety bonds, and $1 billion of parent company guarantees in support of renewable energy projects in their development, construction, and operating phases. Prior to Invenergy LLC, Mr. Schoneburg worked in the finance team for Drax Biomass International LLC, where he directly supported the CEO and CFO in efforts to raise ~$500M for two Biomass facilities and one storage facility at the Port of Baton Rouge.
 
Additionally, Mr. Schoneburg is the founder of M1K LLC, which has provided financial modeling services to clients in the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors. Mr. Schoneburg is a CFA® charterholder, Financial Risk Manager and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst. Mr. Schoneburg received his B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida, and his MBA from Stetson University. Mr. Schoneburg is fluent in German and English.
