Meet Tanja Saaty

Tanja Saaty is a Managing Director in Marathon Capital’s Private Capital Advisory group. She joined to establish and lead the firm’s Private Capital Advisory efforts in Europe and works with senior management to enhance the firm’s position as a premier advisor in clean energy, sustainable technologies, and infrastructure markets. Ms. Saaty has extensive private equity experience, having started her career in PE in 2000, holding senior roles in fundraising, ESG, fund investment and direct investing & portfolio management.​​

Prior to Marathon, Ms. Saaty was Partner and Head of Fundraising & ESG for a tech investment firm, specializing in technology investments across Europe and the US in both Private Equity and Venture Capital. Before that, Ms. Saaty established and ran the UK office for Capvis, a Swiss mid-market buyout fund manager with EUR 3Bn+ under management, to focus on fundraising on a global basis as well as business development for European transactions.​​

Ms. Saaty also served on the Executive Committee and Investment Committee of a Fund of Funds asset manager which is now part of StepStone Group, with EUR 1.5Bn+ under management, where she was focused on sourcing and executing primary and secondary fund investments as well as on fundraising. Prior to that, Ms. Saaty was responsible for sourcing, executing, portfolio management, and exiting direct investment opportunities in Mezzanine Debt & Equity at MML Capital. She was also part of the entire fundraising DD process and sourced new investors. She completed deals such as BaxterStorey, which was voted the fastest-growing business in the UK for 5 years in a row, supporting management to achieve their huge buy and build a success story. Before Private Equity, Ms. Saaty worked at Citigroup in London and New York, focusing on shareholder value enhancement techniques for large corporates.​​

Ms. Saaty holds an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, with a focus on finance, marketing, and strategy. She also holds a Masters in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Economics in Vienna, Austria. Most recently, she completed an Executive Programme on Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies at the University of Cambridge, UK. Ms. Saaty speaks English, German, Portuguese, Italian, French, and Spanish.
