Meet Philippe Lavertu
Philippe Lavertu is Chief Operating Officer at Marathon Capital. Mr. Lavertu is responsible for the day-to-day management of the firm and its functions, including human resources, marketing, risk management, finance, and accounting.
Mr. Lavertu first joined Marathon Capital as an Associate responsible for executing transactions, conducting due diligence, creating financial models, and authoring offering materials. He has worked on various successful mergers & acquisitions and capital raising transactions in the wind and solar power sectors and led the development and implementation of the firm’s customer relationship management system and central repository database. He became Vice President, Business Development, followed by Director of Operations to focus on the firm’s organizational strategies, marketing, and recruiting efforts.
His prior career experience includes positions in debt capital markets, commercial banking, investment banking, and private equity. Before pursuing his MBA, Mr. Lavertu was a Senior Analyst with the Debt Capital Markets Group at National City Bank. He worked on over $3 billion in structured and syndicated debt transactions.
Mr. Lavertu graduated with honors from the Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University with a BS in Business Administration and a major in Finance. He received his MBA with concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Mr. Lavertu holds his Series 24, 63, and 79 licenses.
