Amber Liao

Amber Liao is an Analyst at Marathon Capital. She is responsible for conducting research and due diligence, authoring marketing and offering materials, preparing financial analysis, and creating financial models supporting Marathon Capital’s senior bankers.

Ms. Liao interned with Marathon as a Summer Analyst in 2022. Prior to her internship, she engaged in impact evaluation projects in Kenya with the World Bank and conducted research for several scholars at the Brookings Institution in Washington DC. Inspired by her experience working with VC investors at Beyond The Billion, Ms. Liao published a book called Still She Raises: Venture Capital for Female Founders in May 2021.

Ms. Liao earned an MPA in International Finance and Economics Policy, with a specialization in Quantitative Analysis, from Columbia University and a BS in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. She is fluent in Mandarin, Spanish, and French and holds Series 63 and 79 licenses.
