Claudia Lara

Claudia Lara is an Associate at Marathon Capital. She is responsible for conducting research and due diligence, authoring marketing and offering material, and preparing detailed financial analyses supporting Marathon Capital’s senior bankers.

Ms. Lara interned with Marathon as a Summer Associate in 2022. During her MBA, Ms. Lara did a fellowship with RES, doing market research focused on the U.S. Battery Storage Market. Prior to business school, Ms. Lara worked at NIO, where she collaborated with battery cell engineers and suppliers in the development of next-generation Electric Vehicle Battery packs. Ms. Lara’s contributions extended beyond technical expertise, as she also served as the co-chair of the NIO Women’s Group. After NIO, Ms. Lara worked at Fivestars, a startup that later merged with SumUp, where she played a pivotal role in successfully delivering their advanced third-generation loyalty and payment product. Ms. Lara oversaw operations and managed the entire end-to-end product development process.

Ms. Lara earned an MBA from McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas and a BS in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech. While at McCombs, she was the Graduate Business Council Sustainability Chair and Clean Tech Group Social Vice President. Ms. Lara speaks Spanish.
