Ian Harten

Ian Harten is an Associate at Marathon Capital. He is responsible for conducting research and due diligence, authoring marketing and offering material, and preparing detailed financial analysis supporting Marathon Capital’s senior bankers.

Mr. Harten interned with Marathon as a Summer Associate in 2022. Prior to his internship, Mr. Harten served as a Senior Consultant at IBM in their Cognitive Process Reengineering division in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He provided support for engagements in various industries, including energy, utilities, banking, federal government, and consumer goods. He contributed to projects involving finance process transformation and automation implementation. Before that, Mr. Harten interned at the Treasury Desk of the Ford Motor Company of Canada.

Mr. Harten earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, an MA in the History of Technology at Case Western Reserve University, and a BCom in Finance and a BS in History from the University of Ottawa in Ontario Canada. Mr. Harten is a CFA Charterholder and is fluent in French. He holds Series 63 and 79 licenses.
